To work in a highly dynamic laboratory, conducting leading edge research in artificial intelligence and robotics.
EmploymentLockheed Martin (1997 - Present) Senior Engineer
I work in the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at Lockheed Martin's Advanced Technology Laboratories in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. My main focus of research is Autonomy and Teamiing in robotics and unmanned vehicles.
My Responsibilities include:VALinux (1999 - 2000) Senior Editor for Linux.com
In the position of Senior Editor I was responsible for weekly articles and the management of three online journalists.
Projects, Past and PresentBehavior Action Management - Technical Lead for this DARPA funded seedling that experiments with the limits of human-robot interaction as a means of overcoming traditionally difficult aspects of robotic missions.
Multi-Entity Teaming - Program Manager and Principal Investigator for this Research & Development project which examines future military teams involving humans and synthetic entities including robots and software agents.
PAN - Perception and Navigation - Program Manager for this research program that investigates the frontiers of autonomous navigation in rough terrain by applying human modeled learning.
GUAVA - Program Manager for this Phase II SBIR in conjunction with ISX Corporation for the Army Aviation Applied Technology Directorate (AATD) which provides a General UAV Associate technology for dismounted soldiers controlling small man-packable UAV's.
UCAR - Performing software integration of Lockheed Martin's Contingency Management software for the 2004 Manned-Unmanned demonstration.
ICARUS - Technical Lead for the Intelligent Control and Autonomous Replanning of Unmanned Systems (ICARUS) project which is a technology demonstration program contracted by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) under the Intelligent Autonomy Future Naval Capability (IA FNC) Program. The goal of the overall IA FNC program is to provide an integrated end-to-end system enabling demonstration of "Intelligent Autonomy" in FY'07.
Autonomy - Technical Lead for this research system that monitors vehicle health status and provides contingency management to increase mission success.
DAIDS - Program Manager for this Phase II SBIR in conjunction with ISX Corporation for the Army Aviation Applied Technology Directorate (AATD) which provides support for Common Tactical Picture (CTP) Fusion for Hunter / Standoff Killer teams and Advanced Manned/Unmanned Sensor Technologies (AMUST).
Q3ServerKit - Sole Designer, Developer and Technical Support of a Quake3 utility that allows the user to monitor and modify game servers. This utility received the highest rating available from Tucows and to date, has been downloaded approximately 35,000 times.
OmniChoice - Technical Lead and Lead Developer for this commercially deployed system which can record a user's navigation and automate the retrieval of Web based data via a distributed server farm utilizing agent technology.
Observer System - research system that monitors user actions and speech in order to automate recurring and time-consuming tasks. Responsible for modifying existing software to alert the Observer system upon certain events.
CyberXpress - DARPA funded project that enabled Warfare Commanders to obtain and manage information regarding logistics operations. In charge of developing an administrative interface and developing an automated database refresh utility.
Agent Based Search Engine - Project Manager and Lead Developer. ABIS is a hybrid search engine technology that utilizes existing search engines and agents to scour the resulting pages for documents and images of specific interest.
Data Fusion - Lead Developer for this research project that augments current sensor fusion techniques with data from static sources via mobile agents.
Radar Signature Analysis - analysis of the radar cross section for the previously Top Secret ship "Sea Shadow".
